Soms zijn er van die momenten dat hard werk, de creativiteit en de passie samenkomen in één mooie, internationale erkenning. 

Met trots deel ik fijn nieuws: ik heb de Derde Prijs gewonnen in de prestigieuze 2025 Color Awards,  een internationale competitie die de top van de fotografische kunst eert.

Het is een eer om deze Derde Prijs te mogen delen met  gerespecteerde collega's in de top van de fotografiewereld:

• 1e Plaats: Jeff Schewe (Chicago, V.S.)

  • Een gerenommeerde fotograaf, pionier in digitale beeldverwerking en medeontwikkelaar van software zoals Adobe Photoshop.

• 2e Plaats: Peter Zelei (Boedapest, Hongarije)

  • Een autodidactische beeldend kunstenaar gespecialiseerd in geënsceneerde conceptuele fotografie.

• 3e Plaats: Kaat Stieber (Nederland) - Dat ben ik!

  • Mijn werk versmelt moderne surrealistische elementen met de visuele rijkdom van de Nederlandse Renaissance, vaak verrijkt met dieren die menselijke trekken aannemen.

Kaat Stieber is a fine art photographer whose work merges modern

surrealist elements with the visual richness of the Dutch Renaissan-

ce. Her background in theatre and costume design is evident in the

creativity and refined craftsmanship of her images.

Kaat is currently focused on creating still lifes, to which she adds

a unique twist by incorporating animals, particularly birds, that

adopt human characteristics. These compositions function as mo-

dern fables, highlighting everyday human behaviour and adding a

layer of subtle humour.

She meticulously designs and builds her own sets, beginning her

creative process by collecting visual elements from nature and her

studio. Inspired by the Old Masters, she carefully manipulates light

and shadow to create depth, drama, and a timeless atmosphere in

her work.

Regarding her technique, Kaat creates her final artworks throu-

gh a powerful combination of set design, photography, and digital

painting, pushing the boundaries of both disciplines. The digital

painting process allows her to manipulate the photographed sce-

nes, adding layers of artistic expression that result in vivid, imagi-

native compositions intended to move, comfort, and connect with

the viewer.
